Our Passion for Fishing
The Story Behind our Passion
For nearly 70 years, fishing has been our passion. Beginning on the Ozark streams, Smallmouth Bass, Goggle Eye, and Trout were a daily way of life. In the mid-70s, we ventured to the great Toledo Bend, guiding 300 days a year alongside 6-8 of the best fishermen in the world. Those guys could catch fish in a rain barrel! This was before live scope, side and down imaging – all we had was a flasher. The knowledge accumulated during this period is invaluable.
From the Ozarks to Crappie Country
After our time in Toledo Bend, we headed north to the Kansas/Oklahoma area, where crappie is king. Along this journey, we noticed that the exact lure needed for different fishing situations was often unavailable.
The Birth of Goody’s
This is why GOODY’S was born. From creating jigs and flies in the Ozarks, Bass, Striper, and crappie jigs in Texas, to specializing in crappie here in the Midwest and nationwide.
We are exceedingly proud of our line of spoons, rods, and jig heads. Our spoons and jig heads are second to none – period. Our rods are unbeatable for their designed intent. This is why we proudly say:
