The flat blade tip section acts as a spring bobber for all seasons fishing without freezing as is common with the springs.
Crappies usually “suck” a spoon or light bait in without the perceivable “thump”. Although these bites are not discernible, they can ALWAYS be seen. Tension will pull the blade tip down indicating the strike.
Despite being designed for spoon fishing, these rods really stand out when fishing light baits. Fishing a smaller jig head in any depth of water is tricky. You may not feel the bite but you can ALWAYS SEE IT!
